Dear Parents/ Guardians,

Many of the children have asked if they can wear a costume that represents a character on World Book Day. In response to the children’s requests we thought it would be nice for them to be able to choose to wear either bedtime clothes/onesie or a character costume.

Most of the children put a lot of effort into finding/making costumes, but unfortunately some children simply wear non-uniform which does not reflect a character at all.

So that there is no confusion, we have decided that children should either wear bedtime clothes/onesie or a character costume. If they do not wish to wear either, they should simply come in their school uniform as usual. Children can bring their favourite book to share with the class.

We apologise for any confusion and we hope that you appreciate we are only trying to accommodate the children’s requests.
