Dear Parents and Carers,

Notice of Closure: Kids.com Nursery Ltd.

I was very sorry to hear yesterday to hear of the imminent closure of Kids.com.  They will close their doors on 20th July after eighteen years of before and after school/pre-school provision.

Subsequently I have received enquiries from concerned parents who are wondering if we at St.Andrew’s could take over this provision.

At the time of writing, having only just learned of the situation at Kids.com, I cannot honestly answer this question. If indeed it is a viable proposition, I cannot guarantee that the provision would be up and running in time for children returning to school in September.  As I am sure you are aware, a business venture which caters for children must address many areas of legislation, paying due regard to health and safety and safeguarding for example.

We have tried to launch a venture like this in the past, in conjunction with a local provider. Sadly it had to close because it wasn’t financially viable as not enough people were using the service.  With the closure of Kids.com this situation is likely to have changed.

Therefore I am writing to you to let you know that I am giving this matter serious consideration by researching the viability of St Andrew’s providing before and after-school care facilities.

I will update you with news as soon as I am in the position to do so.
