ALL AFTER SCHOOL SPORTS CLUBS FINISHED
Due to the dark nights all after school sports clubs (including choir) have now finished for the winter break with immediate effect. This includes football, rugby, cheerleading, multi-skills with Liam and High 5’s. I apologise for the short notice and look forward to commencing the clubs again in spring.

FRIENDSHIP WEEK 2012
Next week is Friendship Week. The theme for this year’s national anti-bullying week is ‘We’re better without bullying’ – focusing on bullying behaviour as a barrier to achievement, be it academic or extra curricular. Planned activities are:
- Whole school assembly
- Key stage assemblies
- Play for a Day – an Altru theatre group representative will be in Year 5 for the day working on anti-bullying messages and leading to a performance by Year 5 for the whole school towards the end of the day.
- PSHE&C/SEAL lesson/s for the week based on ideas from anti-bullying week ‘Activities for Schools’ pack, Respect Week lesson or the SEAL booklet ‘Say No to Bullying’.
- The Friendship Hand. This is an activity from the anti-bullying activity pack which will be adapted for each class and displayed around school.

WIGAN HOSPICE CHRISTMAS NOVELTIES
This year we will be selling a selection of Christmas novelty animals on behalf of Wigan & Leigh Hospice. Cost £1.50. As we have a limited number, the novelties will be sold on a first come first served basis. Many thanks.

GIRLS NIGHT OUT
Thank you to everyone who supported this event on Wednesday evening. Thank you to all the stall holders, to the staff and all the helpers on the night. Thank you also to those who donated items for refreshments and the tombola stall. We raised an amazing £364.26.
