WIGAN ST ANDREW’S CE PRIMARY SCHOOL

NEWSLETTER FRIDAY 5/1/24

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Welcome back and Happy New Year to you all. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and we are looking forward to the new term.

Our Christian value for this half term is Compassion. We will be thinking about acts of kindness and compassion that help us to show God’s love to others. At St Andrew’s, we believe it is important to treat others as we wish to be treated: ‘So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them’ Matthew 7:12.

We know there have been a lot of changes in school and we appreciate your patience and understanding moving forward. Our St Andrew’s family may change over time, but the love that unites us remains the same. The families we serve are at the centre of everything we do; we will continue to work together to ensure you and your children feel valued and supported as we help your child to grow and learn.

Best wishes

REMINDER OF PUPIL ABSENCE NOTIFICATION PROCEDURE – IMPORTANT NOTICE

Can I please remind you of the procedure which is triggered by your child’s absence from school:

If your child is absent and we do not receive an explanatory phone call or message from you by 9.15am, we will begin contacting you via ParentMail or by calling all the emergency numbers that we have on file for your child(ren).

If we cannot make contact with you on any of the emergency numbers you have supplied, a senior member of staff will attend your property to verify that your child is safe.

If we cannot make contact at your property we will call the police to request a welfare check.

We all have a duty of care under Safeguarding Regulations to establish and maintain the safety of all of our children.  A parent could have met with an accident, be unconscious or incapacitated and not able to care for their child, and it is with regard to this concern, amongst others, that we have to enforce this procedure.

Thank you for your cooperation
