MRS PRESTON AND MISS TAYLOR RAISING FUNDS FOR SCHOOL – HOW TO SUPPORT THEM

A few weeks ago I wrote to you with the news that these two members of staff are about to take on special challenges in order to raise much-needed funds for our school. Mrs Preston is going to do a tandem sky-dive and Miss Taylor is doing the Great North Swim in Lake Windermere.

Many schools as you know are in the same position as us due to government spending cuts, and you will remember our Chair of Governors letter to you about this in March.

To support them you can use the link on the school website www.justgiving.com or bring your donation into the school office.

I am overwhelmed with the support that we have already received from some very kind and generous parents and want to say a huge thank you to those who have donated so far.

THIS HALF-TERMS CHRISTIAN VALUE IS ‘FRIENDSHIP’

The value we will be exploring this half-term is ‘Friendship’. We will be sharing stories about friendship and thinking about the qualities that make a good friend. We will be reflecting upon our other values and reminding ourselves that good friendships are based on these, for example: forgiveness, compassion and trust.

At St. Andrew’s we treat others as we wish to be treated. All our children are unique and special; some find it harder to make friends than others. Remind them that everyone needs a friend sometimes and that it is never a nice feeling to be the one left out or alone.

Please encourage your child to talk about our worship at home and help them to think about ways in which they could be a good friend to others.

RAFFLE TO RAISE SCHOOL FUNDS

There is still time to buy raffle tickets for the signed Wigan Warriors rugby ball kindly donated by the Sullivan family as a prize to raise money for our school funds. Mr Sullivan has also managed to secure an additional certificate for a Family Match Ticket to attend a Wigan Warriors home game, which our lucky winner will also receive.

Tickets are only £1.00 per strip and can be purchased from the School Office. Thank you for your support.
