SCHOOL OFFICE TELEPHONE CONTACT – IMPORTANT INFORMATION

On Monday 1st April we are having our telephone system upgraded.  During the period of approximately 10am-11.30am you will be unable to contact the school office by telephone.  Should you wish to contact us during this time our school email enquiries@admin.saintandrews.wigan.sch.uk will be available. However, during this period school will still be able to contact parents if the need arises. Many thanks.

BAG2SCHOOL

Just a reminder that our next Bag2School collection will take place on Tuesday 2nd April 2019 at 9.00am.  Bags should be left at the Mort Street entrance gates on the day, or can be left in school before the collection day if necessary.  Thank you for your continued support.

SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHS – INDIVIDUAL & FAMILY GROUPS

The school photographer will be in school on Friday 5th April.  She will start at 8.30am for family groups involving siblings who are not school age.

FRIDAY NIGHT IS HAIR CHECK NIGHT!

We have recently received a number of reports from parents that their child has had to be treated for head lice. This is not a new problem of course, indeed it is one which is affecting all schools in the Borough and is one which the local Health Authority is trying to address.   However it is one which can, with proper treatment and after-care, be controlled quite easily.

We are asking parents therefore to be very watchful for any signs that their child may have a problem of this kind, to report any outbreak to school and to seek advice and treatment immediately. Treatment is available at your local chemist free of charge (just ask at the counter).

Taking measures to prevent head lice is important, and even though it can’t be avoided completely we would encourage children with long hair to have it tied back when in school.

METROFRESH EASTER THEMED LUNCH

This will be held on Wednesday 3rd April.  If those children who normally bring sandwiches for their lunch would like to take part, please return the slip at the bottom of this newsletter by as soon as possible.  The cost of the meal will be £2.30 for KS2 children only.  There is no charge for KS1 children as they are provided with universal free school meals.
