GENERAL ELECTION – SCHOOL CLOSURE

School will be closed on Thursday 12^th December as we are to be used as a polling station for the General Election.

BRING & BUY SALE

Thank you to everyone who supported our bring & buy sale on Friday.  We raised £415.30 for school funds.

DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY WEEK

Next week is our Design and Technology week.  Every child will be designing, making and evaluating a product.

It would be really helpful if you could donate any of the following items:

• Shoe boxes
• Kitchen roll tubes (no toilet roll tubes please)
• Masking tape
• Sellotape
• String
• Assorted plastic lids
• Cereal boxes
• Tissue paper
• Cotton wool
• Fabric
• PVA glue
• Pringles tubes
• Old art and craft items that you no longer need.

We’re sure your child will have a fantastic, creative learning week!

CHRISTMAS LUNCH

Christmas lunch will be held on Friday 13^th December.  If those children who normally bring sandwiches for their lunch would like to take part, please return the slip at the bottom of this newsletter by as soon as possible.  The cost of the meal will be £2.30 for KS2 children only.  There is no charge for KS1 children as they are provided with universal free school meals.

WIGAN HOSPICE – CHRISTMAS NOVELTIES

We are selling Christmas novelties on behalf of Wigan & Leigh Hospice.  This year we have two kinds of novelties at a cost of £2.00 each. There are ‘Christmas Flumpets’ which include a penguin, robin, reindeer, donkey or Santa, and a smaller Christmas Elf or Father Christmas.  Unfortunately, due to limited numbers this year we are only able to sell one toy per child (first come, first served). Christmas novelties will be on sale from Monday 9^th December and can be purchased in class only.  Many thanks.

CHRISTMAS DIARY DATES

Chocolate Bingo: Tuesday 10^th December in the school hall, 4.30pm start.

Wear a Christmas Jumper Day: Friday 13^th December – children may come to school in their Christmas jumpers (school uniform is not required).

KS2 Disco: Tuesday 17^th December 6.00pm-8.00pm in school.  Any donations of cakes and/or biscuits would be much appreciated.

KS2 Christmas Performances: Tuesday 17^th December at 9.30am in church and Wednesday 18^th December at 1.30pm in church.

KS1 Christmas Performances: Tuesday 17^th December at 1.30pm in school and Wednesday 18^th December at 9.30am in school.

KS1 Christmas Party: Thursday 19^th December in the afternoon.  Any donations of cakes and/or biscuits would be much appreciated.

Toy Day & Wear a Christmas Jumper Day: Friday 20^th December – please bring a toy from home. Children may come to school in their Christmas jumpers (school uniform is not required).

End of Term: School will close on Friday 20^th December for the Christmas break at 1.00pm. School will return on Tuesday 7^th January 2020.
