Children from St. Andrew’s attended Wigan Athletic Community Trust’s first ever literacy festival at the DW Stadium on Thursday as part of the Premier League Primary Stars programme.
The event, run in partnership with the National Literacy Trust, saw pupils from St Andrew’s, St Anne’s and Our Lady Aspull Primary Schools take part in a variety of literacy activities, which included a poetry workshop with Matt Goodfellow and a visit from author Tom Palmer.
Children were also taken on a tour of the DW Stadium and had photographs with the FA Cup, while academy players Theo Roberts and Tyler Golden also took part in sessions.
