History
Our History curriculum is designed to ignite pupils’ curiosity about the past and help them understand how it has shaped the world they live in today.
We aim to develop thoughtful, reflective learners who can think like historians—questioning evidence, understanding cause and consequence, and making connections across time periods. Through engaging lessons, children explore key historical events, people and places, both locally and globally.
By studying history, pupils gain a sense of identity, learn to appreciate diversity and develop a deeper understanding of change, chronology and context. We want our children to leave St Andrew’s with a strong foundation of historical knowledge, as well as the skills to think critically, analyse sources, and understand multiple perspectives.
