Congratulations to our fabulous footballing females who were fantastic at the football festival held at Leigh Sports Village on Wednesday afternoon (can you tell that we have been studying alliteration in Year 4?). A great time was had by all and some stunning all-round performances by the girls produced a wonderful runners-up performance. All the girls thoroughly deserved their medals after narrowly missing out in the final after extra-time and penalties.

Imogen was superb in goals (5 penalty saves!); the defence of Lucy, Sophie, Emily and Jessica was as solid as the Great Wall of China; the midfield dynamos of Leah (captain), Alicia and Ellie were fantastic; and goalscorer Ava was on fine form up front scoring 2 goals (one with her head!) to match Leah’s 2 goals from midfield. You were brilliant girls – well done.

A big thank you to all our parents and family members who came to cheer on the girls. We couldn’t have done it without you – a special thank you to Mr Hoolin and Mrs Linde for helping out with transport and the photographs.
