HOLIDAYS IN TERM-TIME – IMPORTANT NOTICE

Parents and Carers please note the following:

Due to new government guidelines, from September 2013 I will no longer be able to authorise any holidays taken during term-time, unless under extremely exceptional circumstances.  In all other circumstances, taking a holiday during term-time will result in unauthorised absence on the child’s attendance record which may trigger a referral to the Wigan LA absence procedure.

Please do not proceed to book a holiday during term-time unless you meet the exceptional circumstances criteria, if in doubt come and see me first.

Best Wishes

(Wendy Massey – Headteacher)

 MILE MARATHON

The Friends of St Andrew’s would like to thank all the children for raising so much money in the Mile Marathon.  The amount raised is £1,872.30 so far, which is an amazing amount!  Thank you to all the staff for their hard work organising the event, and all the parents and families for their support, but especially the children – a brilliant effort.  Well done and thank you.  The winner of the Gulliver’s World tickets was Leah Jane Sullivan in Reception class (well done – a fantastic effort).

We would also like to wish Mr Hoban good luck for the Milton Keynes Marathon this weekend.

WIGANATHLETIC – PAINT YOUR SCHOOL BLUE

Don’t forget to find the Wigan St Andrew’s picture on the Wigan Council Facebook page www.facebook.com/wigancouncilonline and share with all your friends, so we can get the most likes and win the competition.  Many thanks.

NURTURE ROOM – CAN YOU HELP?

If anyone has any unwanted dressing up clothes or games for use in our Nurture Room they would be greatly appreciated.  Please send any items to the school office. Many thanks.
