NEWSLETTER 3

Dear Parents and Carers

ANTI-BULLYING WEEK
Next week is anti-bullying week. We will once again be holding an ‘Odd Socks Day’ on Monday 16th November, when children will have the opportunity to express themselves and celebrate their uniqueness by wearing a pair of odd socks with their uniform.
(Mrs Davies)

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE WEEK
Next week (Monday 16th to Monday 23rd November) the children will be taking part in a variety of outdoor activities delivered by Wigan Council’s Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles Team.

Reception, Year 1, Year 2 – Den building & mini-beast hunts
Year 3 – Den building and fire lighting
Years 4, 5 & 6 – Den building, fire lighting & Clickers archery.

Children can come to school in their own clothes on their activity day. Children will be outdoors for the activities (on the school field), so please can they come to school wearing warm clothes that they could possibly get muddy. Please ensure the children bring a warm coat (and a hat and gloves if needed). Children should bring a pair of wellies with them to school to change into for their Outdoor Adventure Day. If it is your child’s P.E. day, then they should wear warm outdoor clothing and not their P.E. kits on this day.

FUNDRAISER
Things are very different at the moment and our usual fundraisers are not suitable due to Covid restrictions.
We have now signed up to Easy Fundraising and hope you can help. This is a phone app for use when you are shopping online. You just chose The Friends of St Andrew’s School Wigan as your ’cause’ then click onto the online shop. They will then give us a commission for your purchase. It is safe and secure; none of your details are shared.

You can also invite friends to join, and we can get a bonus when your friend shops. It is quick and easy to use and a great way for us to raise funds for all our children at St Andrew’s. Happy shopping.
(J Donnellan)

Many thanks
