SCHOOL CLOSURE – CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you are aware, we are in an extraordinary and unprecedented situation with the spread of coronavirus.

Following the decision last night by the Government we are in a situation that school will be closing to all year groups.

From Monday 23rd March and until further notice:

  • Home packs will be sent out with each child. Do not feel like you have to complete these and you do not have to return them.
  • There are links to websites on the school website page.

Provision in school is to be made for the following categories of workers:

  • Students who have an Educational Health Plan (EHC)
  • Vulnerable students – those students who have an allocated Social Worker
  • Key workers – currently the following, but we are awaiting further clarification on this list which the Education Secretary has said we well have later today: NHS Workers, Teachers, Nursery Workers, Police, Prison Officers, Fire Fighters.

We are awaiting guidance in relation to key workers, if both parents/carers are NOT key workers, and one of the household is currently working from home there will be an expectation that your child will be educated via home learning.

Please note it is not a requirement your child attends school if they fall in the above categories and they remain at home.

We are awaiting clarification on provision of school meals for the children and FSM children.

If not already done so can you please contact school reception tomorrow to confirm if your child falls in the categories above and if it is your intention to send them into school.

We understand how unsettling the current situation is for all our families and we will continue to support you the best we can.  Can I again thank you for your continued support at this difficult time.

Yours Sincerely

The Staff
