CHRISTINGLE
Thank you to all the staff and children at St Andrew’s; we had a lovely morning in school for the Christingle event last Friday. All the children made their own Christingle and learned what each part represents. They also learned about the Children’s Society and the work they do.
Thank you for all the donations sent in to help with the cost of the oranges and to everyone who returned a collection candle, it was a wonderful response and very much appreciated.
I will let you know the final amount collected as soon as possible.

COFFEE & CAKES
Thank you to everyone who supported this event, held at the Vicarage to raise funds for “Maggie’s” based at Clatterbridge Hospital. They do vital work supporting people going through cancer treatment. They, like a Christingle, shine light and hope in people’s lives when they are most in need.
Thank you for the very generous donations sent into school. Collette, Gemma and Vicar Tina, who organised this event, were overwhelmed by such kindness and generosity, as was everyone involved. To date over £1000 has been raised which is a fantastic amount to help Maggie’s with their very important work.

RAFFLE FOR A CHOCOLATE HAMPER
Alfie Lythgoe in Year 2 would like to raise funds for Amy and Friends, a charity that helps babies and children with a rare condition called Cockayne Syndrome (CS) and other related illnesses.
Alfie’s cousin who is only 17 months old is currently being tested for this condition. He has symptoms of it but is not 100% diagnosed yet. The charity have helped and supported his parents so much we want to give something back.
It causes severe growth problems, including microcephaly, neurological and developmental issues, sight, hearing and mobility loss and sadly, there is no current treatment (other than palliative care). The average life span of a child with Cockayne Syndrome (CS) is 8.4 years.
Tickets are £1 a strip draw will take place Tuesday 14th February. We thank you very much for taking the time to read this and hope we raise some well needed money for his charity.
All information about the charity can be found on Facebook or www.amyandfriends.org/aboutcs.htm.
Thank you.
