SUPPORT OUR SOLDIERS CARE PARCELS
The School Council and Mrs Hitchen are collecting items for Support Our Soldiers care packs on behalf of the whole school. These packs will be sent to our soldiers inAfghanistanin time for Christmas. Items which can be included in Christmas parcels are listed below. Please see overleaf for other suggested parcel items.
Santa Hat, Selection Box, Chocolate, Sweets (Haribo are a favourite!!), Christmas Cake, Nuts & Raisins, Salted/Dry Roasted Peanuts, Crisps, Snacks, Biscuits, Chewing Gum, Small Tins of Meat/Fruit, Travel Size Toiletry Items (Shower Gels/Roll-On Deodorant), Puzzle Book, Socks & Undies, Pens, Pencils, Note Pads and a Small Christmas Gift.
Please note that the following items are NOT ALLOWED to be included:
Alcohol, Aerosols, Glass, Matches, Lighters, Christmas Crackers or Party Poppers
Please return any items by Friday 26th October 2012 to ensure our parcels can be delivered in time for Christmas. Many thanks for your support.

JOINING JACK WRISTBANDS
Wigan St Andrew’s are Joining Jack in the fight to find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. We are selling Joining Jack Wristbands priced £2.00 each. All proceeds go towards the Joining Jack Charity and finding a cure for DMD. Wristbands are available from Mrs Swift in the school office.

PTFA
The Annual General Meeting of the PTFA is on Tuesday 2nd October in school at 3.30pm. Everyone is welcome.
The PTFA raise funds for many extra things in school. The PTFA long term project is to raise funds for adventure playground equipment which will benefit all the children. Please try and come along to our meeting.

CONFIRMATION
A reminder for parents of Year 6 children who would like to be Confirmed in 2013 that there will be a meeting in church at 12.15pm this Sunday (23rd September).

HARVEST THANKSGIVING SERVICE
Our church Harvest Thanksgiving services are this Sunday (23rd September) at 9.00am and 10.45am. You are very welcome to come along.

BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY
Sunday 30th September is ‘Back to Church Sunday’, especially for those who haven’t been to church for a long time or ever and would like to come and try it again. This Sunday is especially for you. You will be very welcome at either 9.00am or 10.45am.

PETS SERVICE
Our service at 10.30am on Sunday 7th October will be a ‘Pets Service’. At the service we give thanks to God for our pets and the vicar blesses them. Come along and bring your pet (dog, cat, budgie, hamster, snake, lizard, stick insect……..). All creatures great and small welcome, as well as their owners! It should be fun!
