WIGAN ATHLETIC AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
The after school club is now full. However, we are taking names for the January club on our waiting list. If you wish to register your child’s name please see Mrs Swift in the office. Children on the list will be given first option to register for the January sessions. Many thanks.
FRIDAY NIGHT IS HAIR CHECK NIGHT!
We have recently received a number of reports from parents that their child has had to be treated for head lice. This is not a new problem of course, indeed it is one which is affecting all schools in the Borough and is one which the local Health Authority is trying to address. However it is one which can, with proper treatment and after-care, be controlled quite easily.
Of course it does not always apply that children have “caught” head lice from someone else at school but as you can imagine when children are working closely together as they would be in school it does not take long for the problem to spread from the infected child to others.
We are asking parents therefore to be very watchful for any signs that their child may have a problem of this kind, to report any outbreak to school and to seek advice and treatment immediately. Treatment is available at your local chemist free of charge (just ask at the counter).
This will be held in St Andrew’s Church and Parish Centre on Saturday 11th November, 10.00am-4.00pm. Please see posters for more information.
If you are able to spare a few hours to help on a stall please contact Jean Moss on 07905 202794. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
DEANERY CRAFT PROJECT – EVERY TUESDAY 1.00-3.00PM
The Deanery CE High School has officially opened their new building and we are working on a craft project that can be displayed inside. We focus mainly on knitting/crochet/embroidery, but we are open to suggestions! We can provide materials, but please feel free to bring your own. You will have the chance to work alongside primary schools.
If you can help please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or ring Mrs Watts on 01942 597514.
I have been involved with this. You are made very welcome and you do not have to commit to each week or for the full two hours. Please volunteer if you can.
